Removing Tile Mortar From Concrete

Use a 3 4 or 1 in. Tools ball peen hammers shop product. Work the chisel under the tiles forcing them loose. Leave it for an hour then hold a sharp putty knife at a 45 degree angle and hammer the back with a hand maul to break up the thinset.

However for larger jobs stronger acids may be needed to get the job done. Circular saws shop product. Remove one tile at a time and scrub them with the brush to remove the loosened residue. But if you pull up old tiles it may be something you will have to contend with.

For thin layers or small amounts of cement common household products may be sufficient for removal. While the process of removing mortar from tiles may be a little time consuming the resulting clean tile is worth it.
