To remove thinset start by pouring boiling water over the thinset to weaken the material.

Rinse with clean water and lay out to dry for about 24 hours.
If you re unable to remove all of it smooth out the surface with an angle grinder and a diamond grinding wheel.
While the process of removing mortar from tiles may be a little time consuming the resulting clean tile is worth it.
The most effective and easiest way to remove mastic or thinset from a concrete floor after the tiles have been removed.
Yet when you need to remove it it can be a nightmare.
