The hardest part of replacing the boat carpet on a pontoon is this tear down process once you have removed all the items from your deck the project becomes very easy.
To prepare for the removal firstly cut the rug and carpet up into 6 to 8 inch strips.

This will mean it will be far easier to pull up even if stuck on fast with glue.
You want to be able to move easily around the entire boat with people and tools.
How to remove carpet from a pontoon.
Gently roll the carpet to the heavy object without allowing the carpet to shift.
Examine the floor for any high spots of marine adhesive that might remain and sand the spots down being careful not to damage the flooring.
Pull up the carpet grabbing it by the sides and working your way around the perimeter until it is completely freed from the floor.
Remove all of the seating first then the bimini top and then the rails.

First you ll want to get the pontoon out of the water and onto dry land and make a base for it to sit on the ground or in a garage if you are luckier than we were.
